At RSPCA North Wilts, we are proud of the vital contribution made by our volunteers. Volunteers are absolutely vital to our work and help to ensure that our Branch is there for the animals who need us most.
There are many ways to get involved with RSPCA North Wilts. We have a variety of roles available from helping to raise funds at our charity shops and ensure they run smoothly to caring for the animals at the Wildlife Centre and cat fostering.
We are proud to have a team of over 200 dedicated volunteers who give their time across RSPCA North Wilts. Their efforts have a significant impact on our Branch and the welfare of the animals in our care, their dedication makes our work possible.
There are a variety of reasons why you might wish to volunteer with RSPCA North Wilts. Whether it's to explore your passion for animal welfare, to develop new skills, share skills with us, gain confidence or quite simply the opportunity to be out of the house and socialising in a friendly environment. Whatever your reason is, we are glad to have you on board!

Charity Shop Volunteering
We have fantastic volunteer opportunities across our 9 charity shops, with flexible times and days to suit you.
Role Profile
Our shop volunteers play a vital part in the day-to-day running of our charity shops and help maximise sales to support RSPCA North Wilts. Whether you enjoy being on the shop floor in a customer-facing role or prefer helping behind the scenes, there are plenty of tasks to get involved with.
Your activities may include:
- Assisting and serving customers at the till
- Providing excellent customer service on the shop floor
- Creating attractive displays and supporting visual merchandising
- Receiving donations and promoting our Gift Aid scheme
- General shop tasks such as tidying, cleaning, dusting, and hoovering
Wildlife Centre Volunteering
We have a range of volunteering opportunities available at our Wildlife Rescue Centre!
Roles Available:
Animal Care: Help provide care for a range of wildlife patients on their journey to recovery. Tasks can include cleaning, feeding, creating enrichment and more.
Reception & Admin: Be the first point of call for wildlife in need and help our reception desk run smoothly.
Wildlife Centre and Fostering Driver: Transport animals and help to deliver supplies between locations in our area.
Domestic Fostering
Open your home and heart to help animals get ready for their forever home.
Role Profile
We're looking for animal lovers in the North Wiltshire and Newbury area with room for a four-legged friend. Animal fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to help domestic animals in need. Our foster carers help us to provide cats in need with the safety of their home whilst tending to their welfare needs. A home environment provides a fantastic opportunity for rescued animals to decompress, relax and let their unique personalities shine.
Your activities would include:
- Provide our animals with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
- Feed, water and groom them in line with our advice.
- Transport them to any veterinary appointments when required.
- Provide them with your time and patience.
- Playtime and cuddles are a must!
